The foundation organized a Heroes soccer tourney which drew at least 13 teams from Highfield West.

The organizers say they have more tournaments which are lined up.

“We are going to sponsor other sporting disciplines such as volleyball ,netball and pool” said the Thumelo foundation manager

According to a benefactor of the tournament, his aim is to take Youths out of drugs and make sure they get empowered.

“Our aim is to eradicate drug abuse in our area and coming up with meaningful projects to empower the youths in our community, ” Thumelo said

The tournament was won by Towerlight FC after edging Canaan 1 nil.

The tournament attracted a very huge crowd in the high density suburb popularly known as Fio.

Tinashe “Pfapfi” Chakadza of Towerlight FC said his team was delighted with the win.

“We are very happy with the result and we continue to dominate in the league and tournaments,”

Francis Kaowa of Captain Francis echoed the same words with Chakadza.

“As the league we are happy with the tournament, the goal is to keep our Youths busy, we have to make sure that we fight drug abuse together,” said Kaowa
