SOME of the girls that were part of Beverly Sibanda’s Sexy Angels before she was converted at Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries cannot do without the dance floor.

The trio has been spotted at different pubs around Harare like Airport Lounge, Super Label, Miami Nite Club and most recently City Sports Bar where they were back to their usual gyrating.

Prophet Walter Magaya converted the girls’ former boss Beverly Sibanda and 14 other dancers and sex workers, but it appears reformation is taking longer than expected. The girls all wore PHD wrist bangles inscribed: “PHD Ministries Prophet W Magaya Yadah My Power And Authority”.

Unknowingly speaking to this reporter at Airport Lounge last weekend, one of the girls, identified as Lina, offered sex for a fee of $50. “If you want sex you can pay me $50 because I know how good I am in bed,” she said.

On Tuesday one of the three girls, Chantelle Chidyagwayi, surprised revellers at City Sports Bar when she joined Gonyeti and the Trailors on stage where she performed raunchy dances.

Gonyeti and the Trailors were performing at the venue as the supporting act during Manjenjenje Dancing Queens and Syndicate Girls’ joint album launch. Chidyagwayi’s routines attracted the attention of many revellers even stealing the limelight from Gonyeti.

Some of the revellers who were pushing and shoving to get a glimpse of her were heard asking if she was not one of the PHD converts.

However, rumours doing rounds suggest that Chidyagayi is contemplating taking over the Sexy Angels outfit owing to poor fortunes after conversion. Some of the girls have been complaining that Prophet Magaya has been concentrating more on Bev alone.

But the complaints were quelled this week by Oscar Pambuka, the spokesperson for PHD Ministries, who said the girls had been given amounts ranging between $2 000 and $3 000.

Rumours going around in showbiz circles are that Chantel is considering taking over the Sexy Angels and she is reported to have approached various clubs looking for shows. Apart from the trio, another convert, Veronica Zhuwawo, formerly with Cassa Motto dance group, is also working at newly opened club, Big Apple, in the central business district. Pambuka yesterday said inasmuch as they might be worried about the girl’s conduct, there was not much they could do to monitor them.

“It is true they are patronising bars, but it is not the church’s fault that they are behaving that way,” he said.

“They have nurturing classes and when we asked them, they said they did not know what was expected of them. They say they were not even aware they were no longer supposed to behave that way.”

He said as new converts they also needed time to reform.
