UPCOMING artiste Romeo Gasa on Friday lambasted Marondera music promoter Cosmas Vhutuza for the poor marketing of his gig after a massive flop.

The musician performed in front of less than 20 people at Club XS in the central business district of the Mashonaland East capital.

Gasa blamed Vhutuza, saying he had failed to market the show putting up just a few posters in Dombotombo suburb a few days before the show.

“I am very disappointed with the number of people who turned up. l blame the organiser as he put few posters, hence people did not turn up,” Gasa said.

“That was a big flop and am still in shock.”

At the show Gasa almost refused to perform, but it was the defiant Jacob Moyana who, despite the disappointing turnout, played well beyond midnight.

Moyana, who has capitalised on his obscene lyrics to capture attention, said it was his duty to play music despite the poor attendance.

Conceding poor planning, Vhutuza had to persuade Gasa.

As if to affirm Gasa’s ill-fated outing, a passing motorist watched in awe as his vehicle was burnt to ashes a few meters away from the venue after a suspected electrical fault.

In a sharp contrast of fortunes Jah Prayzah had a great turnout in the same town on Saturday.

The musician gave a top-notch performance belting out both old and new songs at Legends Sports Bar leaving fans clamouring for more.

He bettled out some of his new songs that is My Love and Mukoma which were popular among revellers.
