For the French modelling agency, Elite Model Look (EML), discovering local beauty Nyasha Matonhodze was like striking gold.

With the conviction that there was definitely more where Nyasha had come from, the agency, working in partnership with Pure Imagination, is sending representatives to the country next month in search for more beauties.

The models will grace the EML world final which will be held in China. Janice Costa, the executive director of Elite Model Look Zimbabwe, said they were looking for females aged between 14 and 22 with a height of at least 172cm.

“The ladies are being invited to show off their style and beauty, take the walk down the runway of opportunity and submit their entry forms to participate at the pageant,” Costa said This will be EML’s first time to conduct a model search in Zimbabwe. The search will kick off in May and will be conducted in Harare, Chitungwiza, Mutare, Bulawayo, and Masvingo. The national casting will be held towards the end of July and the finalists will be narrowed down to 20. The national final has been slated for September 8 in Harare.

The winner of the Zimbabwe EML contest will be flown to the 29th Elite Model Look world finale on an all expenses paid trip. The world finale will be held on October 13 and a total of 90 top models from more than 70 countries and regions will take part. The contestants will be judged by a panel of the world’s top fashion experts, including renowned designers, celebrity photographers, well-known fashion editors and top models.

The top three winners of the EML world final contest will secure contracts worth 300 000 Euro awarded from Elite Model Management (EMM). They will also sign contracts with the global EMM network. EMM is one of the world’s leading modeling agencies, founded in Paris in 1972 by John Casablancas and Alain Kittler. Elite today manages over 2 000 models.

Elite Model Look is an international model search first launched in 1983 by Elite Model Management of Paris. As the premier source for discovering fresh new faces each year, with over 350 000 contestants in more than 70 countries, it is considered to be the world’s most prestigious and influential modeling contest.
