AT just 22, Zanele Moyo is proving that beauty goes beyond appearance — it is about purpose, passion and representing the place you call home.

The Bulawayo-born contestant has emerged as one of the standout participants in this year’s Miss Tourism Zimbabwe competition, carrying the pride and spirit of the City of Kings onto the national stage.

For Moyo, the pageant is about far more than winning the crown.

“It’s never just been about the crown, but a journey of pride, purpose and showcasing the spirit of Bulawayo to the entire nation,” she said.

Since entering the competition, the model has drawn attention for her confidence, elegance and strong connection to her roots. Through every appearance, speech and engagement, Moyo says she aims to highlight Bulawayo’s culture, history and resilience.

“Being given the opportunity to represent Bulawayo, a city rich in culture, history and resilience, has been one of the greatest honours of my life,” she said.

“Every step of this journey reminds me of the beauty, strength and warmth that our city carries, and I am proud to showcase that spirit on the national stage.”

As the competition intensifies, Moyo has set her sights firmly on securing a place in the Top 5.

However, she says she cannot achieve that goal alone and is appealing to supporters across Zimbabwe to vote for her.

Voting is open on voting.co.zw, with contributions starting from US$2.

"Every vote brings me one step closer to representing our beautiful city even further,” the model told NewsDay Life & Style.

“This is more than a personal dream. It’s about community, pride and showing the world the strength and beauty of Bulawayo.”

With determination and growing support behind her, Moyo hopes to transform Bulawayo’s pride into national recognition as she continues her journey in the Miss Tourism Zimbabwe pageant.
