Zim-US music collabo bridges continents with two new tracks

KWEKWE-BASED music outfit Team Awesum has joined forces with United States artiste Shaine Palko in a cross-border collaboration that will see the release of two songs exploring humanity and love.

Zimbabwean artistes Tinotenda Chigwa, popularly known as Tbaba, Roman Masora and Brian Masora, who goes by the stage name Ogast, have partnered Palko, an American musician, on two upcoming tracks titled Wild Fire Mood and Handinyepi.

“The collaboration brings together Team Awesum, which is based in Kwekwe and Shaine Palko, who is based in Jersey, United States, highlighting the growing global connections within Zimbabwe’s music industry,” Chigwa said.

He added that the first track, Wild Fire Mood, reflects on humanity, comparing how people live, think and relate to one another today versus how things used to be in the past.

The song delivers a message-driven narrative that encourages listeners to reflect on social values and the direction society is taking.

“The second track, Handinyepi, is a love song that centres on commitment and devotion.”

Chigwa said the song spoke about vows, trust and reassurance between partners, capturing the emotional depth of genuine love.

The artiste said the two projects were independent releases united by a shared vision of meaningful storytelling through music.

He added that the collaboration marks a significant milestone for Team Awesum as it continues to expand its reach beyond Zimbabwe’s borders while promoting local talent on an international stage.
