Tafadzwa Kuveya: From balancing books to wearing crowns

Life & Style
Tafadzwa Kuveya

AT just 22, Tafadzwa Kuveya is proving that brilliance can flourish in both the boardroom and on the runway.

An accountant, entrepreneur and model, she is gracefully balancing two demanding worlds — numbers and glamour — while making her mark as one of the country’s rising young women of influence.

Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, Kuveya is on the verge of completing her ACCA qualification, which will officially induct her into one of the world’s most respected accounting bodies.

She currently serves as a senior audit associate at MGI Chartered Accountants Zimbabwe, where she is admired for her professionalism and diligence.

Beyond her corporate career, Kuveya is the founder of Awack Beauty, a brand she established at 20 with the empowering motto “Be Bold and Beautiful”.

Her brand encourages women to embrace their individuality and confidence, a reflection of her belief that true beauty stems from self-assurance and purpose.

Her poise and determination recently shone on an even larger stage when she was crowned Miss Glamour Zimbabwe 2025 in March this year.

The victory marked a new chapter in her journey, one that she describes as her “time to shine”.

She will represent Zimbabwe at the upcoming Miss Africa International Pageant in Abuja, Nigeria, in December, where she hopes to showcase the country’s culture, hospitality and values to the rest of the continent.

“I’ve always believed that if you can dream it, you can achieve it,” she said in a recent interview.

“At first, entering a pageant felt scary, but I reminded myself that courage opens doors.”

A firm believer in faith and purpose, Kuveya credits prayer and reading the Word of God for keeping her grounded amid her busy schedule.

Her pageant platform focuses on advocating for equal access to quality education, an issue she feels strongly about.

She believes education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and addressing social challenges such as child marriages.

With her trademark humility and ambition, Kuveya embodies the essence of a modern Zimbabwean woman —bold, educated and compassionate.

Her journey from balancing books to wearing crowns is a powerful reminder that dreams, when matched with hard work and faith, can, indeed, lead to limitless possibilities.
