CHRISTINA Loretta Gomm took time to have her identity restored at the recently held “Jom Makan in Harare” cultural showcase, where the Malaysian embassy shared its wide variety of food and fruit with the diplomatic community in Zimbabwe.
Malaysian embassy chargé d’affaires Mohd Hail Aniff Mohd Fauzi shared his country’s rich culture and cuisine at a colourful function at The Venue in Avondale, Harare, under the theme A Taste of Malaysia, Jom Makan in Harare.
Makan translates to “Let's eat”.
“My name is Christina Gomm and I am a Malaysian resident in Zimbabwe. I have been running the Africa Dream Village Travel and am very excited to be part of the A Taste of Malaysia, Jom Makan in Harare. It also gives us pride to announce that Africa Dream Village Travel which was founded and established as Malaysian Investment by myself Christina and Otto Gomm in 1995 is celebrating 30 years of excellent service delivery.”
Over the past 30 years, Africa Dream Village Travel has been arguably one of the most reliable diplomatic and tourism connecting agent to Malaysia and to other attractive destinations across the globe.
Drawing inspiration from quotable quotes like “To travel is to live” by Hans Christian Anderson, “Once a year go somewhere you have never been before” by Dalai Lama, “Where you go becomes a part of you somehow” by Anita Desai, and “Travel brings power and love back into your life” by Rumi, among plenty others.
Gomm confirmed that her company has grown from strength to strength in conducting business in worldwide travel, airline ticket sales, transport rental, hotel reservation and event planning.
“Africa Dream Village Travel nestled in the prestigious Borrowdale suburb at Sam Levy’s Village, Harare, celebrates its 30th year. It was founded and established as a Malaysian Investment by Christina and Otto Gomm in 1995.
“As globetrotters having travelled to all continents and lived in six countries, they bring an immense wealth of travel experience, knowledge and unforgettable memories to share with travellers,” Gomm said.
Gomm also assured NewsDay Life & Style that as Africa Dream Village Travel education, knowledge, responsibility and commitment are qualities and a priority they uphold as a company.
She added that travel consultants and travel interns had always been trained through Travel Superstars at the company’s training facility.
In like manner, the building of two pre-schools at the Goromonzi and Chipashu growth points in Zimbabwe are a testimony to this.
“Our company has promoted travel locally and internationally at Sanganai, Spotlight.
Travel Expo and Africa’s Eden in Zimbabwe, Indaba in South Africa, ITB Berlin in Germany, MATTA Travel Fair in Malaysia and Dakar Travel Fair in Bangladesh, among plenty other destinations,” she said.
Gomm said the announcement of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign by Fauzi was a welcome development for people to explore Malaysia’s diverse heritage, natural beauty and warm hospitality, including investment opportunities.
