THE Chibuku Road to Fame provincial competitions wind up this weekend when music bands from Harare and Mashonaland Central provinces meet at the Makuluwani Bar in Whitehouse, Harare, today.
This year’s Chibuku Road to Fame Provincial competitions began on August 23 and every weekend thereafter, the competitions continued in six paired provinces, where on average 20 musical groups would showcase their talents in bid for a place at the national finals slated for October 4 at Gwanzura Stadium in Harare.
Running under the theme Celebrating 25 Years of Discovering Talent!, the national final prizes are as follows: US$15 000 plus a recording contract for the first prize, followed by US$10 000 for the second prize and US$7 000 for the third prize.
Afro-fusion bands Mnenga Band, from Makoni district in Manicaland, and Jungle Fox, from Wedza district in Mashonaland East, made it to the Chibuku Road to Fame National finals after grabing first positions in dual competitions held at the Pagomo Lounge in Marondera last Saturday.
Second best groups were sungura band Watsomba Stars from Manicaland and Groove Fusion Band from Goromonzi District.
The third positions were seized by Tapi Tapi Boys from Marondera district, and the ASG Band from Mutare in Manicaland.
The top winning three bands from each province would walk away with cash prizes.
The first prize was US$2 500, the second getting US$1 500, while the third being US$1 000, as Chibuku Road to Fame commemorates the silver jubilee, a celebration of 25 years of discovering musical talent in addition to its 62nd anniversary of excellent brewing.

Today, Harare and Mashonaland Central will fill up the last two spots to seal the 10 places in the Chibuku Road to Fame National Competitions.
In a Press statement, Irimayi Muzorewa, Delta Corporation marketing director, said all was set for the much-anticipated Chibuku Road to Fame 2025 national finals.
She said eight winners had made it so far, which include: Core Vibes (Afro-fusion genre, Midlands), All in One (Afro-fusion, Mashonaland West), Simuniziva (Afro-fusion, Matabelaland North), Dab Band (Afro-fusion, Bulawayo), Bolamba Culture Birds (traditional contemporary music, Matabeleland South), Afro Pulse (Afro-fusion, Masvingo), Mnenga Band (Afro-fusion, Manicaland) and Jungle Foxes (sungura, Mash East).
“The Chibuku Road to Fame competitions have been running since August 23, 2025, with provincial finals held across the country. The competitions have continued to deliver thrilling performances and showcase emerging talent.
“This year marks a special milestone as the event celebrates 25 years of discovering and nurturing talent, in partnership with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ),” Muzorewa said.
“So far, eight provinces have crowned their winners, while Harare and Mashonaland Central will soon complete the line-up. A total of ten groups will showcase their talent at the national finals, contending for the top prize.
“The grand finale will feature performances from the competing groups as well as renowned guest artists, promising an unforgettable day of entertainment from 10am until late.”
The Chibuku brand has emerged as Zimbabwe’s most unifying beverage, weaving communities together through its iconic Chibuku Road to Fame music platform.
This year alone, the competition brought together over 200 artistes from 120 bands across all 10 provinces, showcasing an incredible fusion of traditional and contemporary musical styles.
Chibuku not only celebrates musical excellence, but embraces competition as a catalyst for refining its products as a commitment that preserves its brand integrity while fueling an ever-growing sales trajectory.
As the 25th anniversary of the Chibuku Road to Fame coincides with the 62nd anniversary of the brand’s brewing legacy, the event continues to be a beacon of cultural pride, elevating talents that blend traditional instruments with western flair.
