The company also announced that Montclair Resort & Conference, which RTG acquired in 2025, attained ZWS ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification earlier this year.

HARARE May 27(NewsDay Live)- The Rainbow Tourism Group has become the first hospitality company in Zimbabwe to get dual certification under the internationally recognised ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and ISO 22301:2019 standards.

The hospitality group said the  milestone achievement reinforces its commitment to global governance and operational excellence.

The group, which is Zimbabwe’s largest hospitality company, announced Wednesday that it successfully completed the dual certification process in a single audit cycle, placing it among only four organisations in the country across all industries to attain both standards concurrently.

The certifications cover Information Security Management Systems (ISO/IEC 27001:2022) and Business Continuity Management Systems (ISO 22301:2019).

RTG chief executive officer Tendai Madziwanyika described the achievement as a defining moment for both the company and the country’s hospitality sector.

“This is a defining moment for Rainbow Tourism Group and for Zimbabwe’s hospitality sector. These certifications are not symbolic — they are a formal, independent affirmation that RTG has the systems, the discipline, and the people to operate at the highest international standards,” Madziwanyika said.

“We are proud to stand in this achievement alongside our team, our Board, and our guests, who deserve nothing less.”

RTG said the ISO/IEC 27001 certification confirms that the group has implemented internationally validated systems to safeguard sensitive information, including guest and corporate client data, amid rising global cyber security threats.

The ISO 22301 certification demonstrates that the hospitality giant has established tested systems capable of ensuring continuity of operations during disruptions such as natural disasters, system failures or supply chain interruptions.

The company also announced that Montclair Resort & Conference, which RTG acquired in 2025, attained ZWS ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification earlier this year.

This means all seven RTG hotels and its corporate office are now certified under the quality management standard.

According to the group, the certifications strengthen RTG’s strategic positioning with development finance institutions, international lenders and ESG-focused investors, who increasingly require proof of governance maturity and institutional resilience.

“With these achievements, Rainbow Tourism Group has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening information security and business continuity systems to realise its vision to become Africa’s tech-enabled world-class company that delivers exciting and fulfilling products and experiences,” the company said.

RTG said the achievement also raises the benchmark for Zimbabwe’s tourism industry as the country seeks to position itself as a premium international travel destination.
