Both players were honoured with the man-of-the-match status for their contribution to their respective clubs’ victories in the BPL.

Ervine, who has been turning out for local outfit Matabeleland Tuskers, was named the man-of-the-match when he inspired his side Doronto Rajshahi to a two-run victory against Chittagong in the league’s third match.

In an exhilarating end to a tightly contested match Ervine picked up two crucial wickets in the last over to scrap a win for his side and deny Chittagong a victory.

Marshal Ayub was the first casualty when Ervine dismissed him with the first ball of the 20th over for four runs while Arafat Sunny’s dismissal by Ervine with three balls left in the game sealed the victory for Duronto.

Ervine is playing alongside former Tuskers teammate Moeen Ali who has been providing some stability to the Doronto side coming in as number three in the batting order. Mashonaland Eagles all rounder Elton Chigumbura also picked up the man-of-the-match award after putting up an exceptional performance for Sylhet Royals in their thrilling four-wicket win over Duronto Rajshahi with five balls to spare.

Chigumbura, having a lot of experience in Bangladeshi conditions, was unbeaten on 43 off just 21 while Milon, a big-hitting sensation locally, made 33 off 22. He picked up three wickets for his side dismissing Ali for 24 runs, Jaharul Islam for 50 as well as Abdul Hasan for a duck.

Right-handed batsman Hamilton Masakadza, who also turns out for Chigumbura’s side contributed 16 runs to the side’s total before being bowled out in the 14th over. Meanwhile, Ali got 24 runs while Ervine contributed 15 runs to Doronto innings’ total of 147 runs.
