Yadah target top-eight finish

With 11 games played so far, Yadah have only managed one win which came against Herentals and have amassed just eight points, having drawn five matches and lost the same number.

By Courage Nyaya YADAH FC coach Genesis Mangombe is anticipating a top-eight finish in the 2021-22 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign despite his club currently flirting with relegation.

With 11 games played so far, Yadah have only managed one win which came against Herentals and have amassed just eight points, having drawn five matches and lost the same number.

They travel to Mutare on Saturday for a date with Tenax. Despite losing to Caps United in their last match, they are optimistic of a positive result.

”At the end of the season, we are going to make sure that we are not in the relegation. We want to make sure we don’t find ourselves fighting relegation and we want to finish in the top eight. I tell you if everything goes well we are going to make it,” he declared.

“For Tenax, we are preparing well and I think we need to turn the tables. We need to win this game at least. Since last week, we have been preparing for this game and now the system is coming up and the combination is working well.”

He acknowledged that Tenax was a good side, especially after they recorded wins against ZPC Kariba and Caps before sharing spoils with Harare City.

“Of course, they are a good side, but they got strengths and weaknesses in their team, so we will try to capitalise on their weaknesses and make sure we reinforce our strengths,” Mangombe said.

“So we are going to make sure we win that game and we have to collect maximum points. At the moment, everyone is fit, no COVID-19 or injury worries. We are going to take a good squad to that match.”

Tenax FC are currently 11th on the log table with 13 points from 11 games managing to win three, play four draws and lose the same number.

The Anointing Boys are sitting waist deep in relegation mud, where they are 16th on the 18-team table and are level on points with WhaWha.
