Dynamos will be hoping to put their boardroom problems aside when they clash with Chicken Inn in a rescheduled Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Rufaro Stadium on Wednesday.
It is not clear who is in charge at the country’s most popular team with Farai Munetsi and his executive having been booted out after a board meeting two weeks ago, although he was in the forefront of organising last week’s trip to South Africa.
Dynamos beat the Orlando Pirates developmental side 1-0 in an Ubuntu Calabash clash at the Rand Stadium in Johannesburg last Saturday.
Last Saturday, Dynamos travelled to South Africa with Munetsi still in charge and yesterday, the news from the camp was that consultations were still going on with the team’s lawyers with regards to Munetsi’s status and they were due to meet again on Wednesday.
Away from that, Dynamos have the greatest chance of leapfrogging into third position if they beat Chicken Inn on Wednesday afternoon.
The Harare giants have 22 points and lie in sixth place, one behind Hwange, Highlanders and Chicken Inn who are all tied on 23 points.
With a win Dynamos would move into third with 25 points, three behind champions Motor Action and five behind leaders FC Platinum.
Dynamos will miss the services of defender David Kutyauripo who is injured and possibly skipper George Magariro, whose contract expired on June 30. Goalkeeper Washington Arubi, Martin Vengesayi, Murape Murape and Desmond Maringwa though are expected to play a leading role in today’s match. On the other hand, if the Bulawayo side wins, they will retain third position, but will now be four points behind the leaders.

Chicken Inn assistant coach Adam Ndlovu was confident that the GameCox, as the Bulawayo side is affectionately known, could take advantage of this background to post a famous victory against Dynamos in Harare.
“We are going for a win. We just have to win. There is confusion in the Dynamos camp and we can ride on that to get a win,” Ndlovu told the club’s official website on Tuesday.
“Of course, we know soccer is not played in the boardroom, but still a divided house is never a strong house,” rightly added Ndlovu.
For Chicken Inn fans, they might have to wait a little bit longer to get to see new strikers Tendai Ndoro and Evans Chikwaikwai in action as the club is still trying to get the reverse international transfers for the two. Ndlovu revealed that the two had been practising with the rest of the team but would not available for the Dynamos match.
“Tendai and Evans will probably be available for the reverse fixture as at the moment we are yet to finalise their reverse transfers,” revealed Ndlovu.
This then means that the onus will once again fall on Thomas Chimenya and Canaan Nkomo to bang in the much-needed goals against Dembare.
Head coach Philani Ncube has previously enjoyed success against Dynamos in Harare, the most memorable being in the 2008 Independence Trophy final when his then team Njube Sundowns won 1-0 through a Chikwaikwai strike.
