Caps United have been summoned to appear before a Premier Soccer League disciplinary committee next Tuesday following disturbances that rocked their league match against Gunners at Rufaro on Sunday.
Caps could lose three points to Gunners and also face a monetary fine if found guilty of having brought the game of football into disrepute.
Order 31.1 of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Rules and Regulations has been applied to their case.
It is an act of misconduct on the part of the club where 31.1.13. states: “. . . Its supporters misbehave in any manner whatsoever, inside or outside a ground before, during and after a match, no matter on which ground the match is played.
“Without derogating from the generality of what constitutes misbehaviour on the part of supporters, the following are specifically declared to be acts of misbehaviour:-
31.1.13.1 “Invasion or attempted invasion of the field of play, save for reasons of crowd safety. 31.1.13.2 “Causing the abandonment or attempting to cause abandonment of a match”
31.1.13.3 “Throwing or attempting to throw missiles, bottles, and other objects, whether potentially harmful or dangerous or not, onto the pitch, or at any person.
“You are therefore required to appear before the Disciplinary Committee at the offices of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, on 26 July 2011 at 1730hrs. You are not entitled to legal representation at the disciplinary hearing but if you are a duly registered player with the Premier Soccer League the Vice-Chairman of the club with which you are registered may attend and assist you during the proceedings.

“In terms of order, 32,5,2 of the new Rules and Regulations of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League you are hereby required to submit in writing within two (2) days of the date of this Notification your response or answer to the allegations foresaid failing which you may be called for another disciplinary hearing in respect of such failure,” read the summons.
In his report, referee of the match Ruzive Ruzive stated in his match report that: “54 minutes — The Gunners goalkeeper was forced to leave his area of guard as Caps United supporters began throwing missiles (stones, plastic bottles and beer pints and beer quarts).
“I made a decision to stop the match due to spectator interference. This is in accordance with the Laws of the Game 2010/2011, page 23, bullet point number (4) on Decisions of the International F.A. Board . . .”
“. . . I then summoned one (Mr) Dhlakama of Caps United and a Gunners official and told them that: ‘if the Gunners goalkeeper goes back to his area of guard and is attacked again I will abandon the match’.
“After another three minutes, the Gunners goalkeeper went back to take his place. There was no trouble this time and play continued . . .”
“. . . 68 minutes — Gunners scored the second goal through double scorer Fiyado Leonard and the Caps United supporters started throwing missiles again when teams were getting ready for the restart.
“At this time there was total chaos and I decided to abandon the match.”
