Former Premiership side Bantu Rovers travel to Hwange for their first Zifa Southern Region Division One football match against Rufaro Rovers today.
Bantu had their first match against Zimbabwe Saints, scheduled for last Saturday at Luveve Stadium, postponed because the venue was occupied.
Tshintsha Guluva have missed three fixtures after the other games were postponed as the Under-19 team was in the US where they took part in the Dr Pepper Dallas Cup from April 1-8. The Rueben Tsengwa-coached Bantu will be without strikers Marvelous Nakamba and Dion Homela, who were spotted by scouts in the US and the former is on trials with Belgian side Cercle Brugge and the latter remained in the US with FC Texas.
They are likely to be joined by twins Elvis and Kelvin Moyo, who have been training with the Under-20 Young Warriors, in preparation for the Caf Youth Championships qualifiers’ first leg against Botswana’s Young Zebras at Barbourfields Stadium on Saturday.
The Moyo twins and Kevin “Skopo” Sibanda will be joining Nqobizitha Masuku, Chrispen Ncube, Wallace Magalane, Ezra Siyadhuba, Bright Dzowa and Brian Mpala, who were on the US tour. New Division One side Rufaro Rovers drew 1-1 with other newcomers Tsholotsho in Hwange on Saturday.
Only two Division One league matches will be played today with Victoria Falls-based Sao Paulo also travelling to Hwange where they take on newly-promoted Projects.
In games played at the weekend, Railstars who recently lost the National Railways of Zimbabwe sponsorship, beat Mpumalanga 2-0 at Raylton Sports Club on Saturday.
Prison officers’ Ntabazinduna beat fellow-uniformed forces side Black Boots 2-0 in Ntabazinduna while ZPC Hwange overcame Bulawayo Chiefs 1-0 in the coal mining town.

On Sunday, Power Cosmos dismissed another Division One newcomer Sizani Fruit and Veg 2-0 in Hwange. New West City shot to the top of the log-standings after three matches when they dispatched Emakhandeni Pirates 4-2 at White City Stadium on Saturday.
Zimbabwe Saints, who did not have a match at the weekend, and were ruling the roost, slumped to position four, a point behind New West City, Ntabazinduna and ZPC, albeit with a game in hand.
