FORMER Zimbabwe international Silas Songani is poised to join TelOne during the mid-season transfer window as the Gweru-based side seeks to address its goalscoring challenges.
Songani, who turns 37 later this month, has been training with the WiFi Boys for the past two months, fuelling speculation that he could be unveiled as one of the club's new signings.
Sources close to the club indicated that the experienced forward is set to lead TelOne's attack in the second half of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.
The move comes as TelOne coach Saul Chaminuka looks to strengthen his squad after a mixed first half of the campaign, particularly in attack where the team has struggled for consistency in front of goal.

Following his side's 1-1 draw against Bulawayo Chiefs at Barbourfields Stadium, Chaminuka acknowledged the need to reinforce key areas during the upcoming transfer window.
“When the window comes, it brings a lot of anxiety. I cannot rule out the possibility of bringing in one or two players so that maybe we get the goals that we need and move up the ladder,” Chaminuka said.
“I also want to strengthen our defence. We need a playmaker or someone who can provide that final pass. Those are the areas we are looking at and we hope things go well.”
TelOne spokesperson Sindiso Dube remained guarded on Songani's potential signing.
“He has been training with us for the past two months, but I cannot say whether he will sign with us,” Dube said.
Songani moved to Danish side SonderjyskE from Harare City in 2014 and spent five years in Europe before returning home in 2020 to join FC Platinum.
He later signed for Icelandic club Vestri in 2022 before returning to Zimbabwe last year.
Should the deal go through, TelOne will be banking on Songani's vast experience and proven quality to provide the cutting edge they have lacked in front of goal this season.
