ZIMBABWE cricket is on the rise as all-rounders Ryan Burl and Brian Bennett lead a wave of signings for Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11.
The duo’s inclusion follows Zimbabwe’s impressive showing at the recent ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka and India, where their all-round displays attracted global attention.
Burl’s move was officially confirmed by Lahore Qalandars on their social media platform X, where they unveiled him as their final squad addition ahead of the new season.
The experienced all-rounder will link up with his Zimbabwe T20i captain Sikandar Raza, strengthening the defending champions’ depth.
On the other hand, Bennett has secured a place with Peshawar Zalmi, marking another major step in his rapidly growing career.
The young Zimbabwean has impressed with his aggressive approach at the top of the order, especially at the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka last month, making him one of the brightest prospects to watch.
Raza welcomed Burl to the Qalandars camp in a light-hearted Instagram post, saying: “Lord Ponsoby in the house, welcome bro!” — a reflection of the camaraderie within the Zimbabwe camp now extending into franchise cricket.
The Zimbabwean contingent in the PSL could have been even larger had towering fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani not taken a different route.
