WARRIORS winger Daniel Msendami has wasted no time winning over Orlando Pirates supporters, with his first two cameo appearances igniting excitement and speculation about a future move to Europe.
The 25-year-old joined the Soweto giants from Marumo Gallants at the turn of the year, riding the momentum of a breakout performance for Zimbabwe at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
While the Warriors’ campaign was largely disappointing, Msendami’s individual brilliance made his step up to a major South African club feel inevitable.
He debuted for Pirates on January 31 against Magesi, coming on in the final 15 minutes of a comfortable 2-0 victory, and followed that up with an 11-minute appearance against AmaZulu three days later — another 2-0 win.
Despite limited minutes, his flair and composure suggested he is ready for the big stage.
With Pirates currently leading the Betway Premiership by three points after 15 rounds, Msendami is emerging as a potential game-changer capable of helping the club end Mamelodi Sundowns’ domestic dominance. Fans and rivals alike are taking notice, hailing the Zimbabwean’s technical quality, versatility, and European potential.
Social media has been buzzing with praise for the 25-year-old, with some fans already suggesting he might displace established stars in the starting lineup.
Ace Baitseng wrote on Facebook, “Msendami will put both Mofokeng and Appollis on the bench. This guy is a baller.”

Another Facebook user Anthony Moyane wrote, “When I saw his signing, I knew we were going somewhere in terms of competing for honours.”
Makanaka Gwangwanyu added: “The talent and potential is massive. He will be a big player for us.”
Even rival supporters have been forced to acknowledge the Zimbabwean’s quality.
Kaizer Chiefs fan Calvin Chinemurumbi noted, “He is on his way to Europe. That’s Pirates for you — they see talent, develop it, and export it to bigger leagues. Big up Pirates, lots of love from a Kaizer Chiefs fan.”
Msendami’s rise has been a story of perseverance. Initially deemed not ready by Highlanders, he was loaned to Vumbachikwe in 2019 and later to Jwaneng Galaxy in Botswana in 2022.
In Botswana, his career flourished — he helped Jwaneng win the 2022–23 and 2023–24 Botswana Premier League titles and lifted the FA Cup, earning Player of the Tournament honours.
His brief, but impactful stint at Marumo Gallants in 2024 confirmed he could handle the physicality of the South African top flight, prompting Pirates to secure his signature over several rivals.
