THE Zambezi 7s Challenge Tournament sponsored by the Zambezi Lager returns bigger and better this weekend at the iconic home of rugby, Harare Sports Club.
This year marks the fifth edition of the prestigious rugby event, which is set to take place tomorrow and Sunday.
The tournament has grown exponentially since its inception in 2021, attracting top talent from across Africa and beyond.
This year, Kenya joins the line-up, adding to the competitive list of participants from Germany, Zambia and Botswana.
The event promises to be an unforgettable experience, with entertaining matches, community spirit, and premium refreshments.
Local clubs, including Mutare Sports Club, Old Miltonians, and Old Georgians Sports Club, will compete against international teams, including the Zambezi Cheetahs, Kenya and Zambia.
The women’s tournament is also set to be a highlight, featuring five international teams from Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana.
With a total prize pool of US$14 500, the competition is expected to be fierce, with teams vying for the top spot.

The winners of both men and women’s division are set to pocket US$5 000 each with the runners-up getting US$1 500 while the plate champions are set to receive US$500.
Zimbabwe’s Zambezi Cheetahs are the reigning champions, having won the tournament in 2023 and 2024.
