DYNAMOS coach Kelvin Kaindu has showered praises on Ghanaian import Issaka Mohammed, who impressed on his debut at the heart of defence in the team’s nil-all draw with Triangle at Rufaro on Sunday.
The stalemate ended the Glamour Boys’ purple patch in which they had gone four matches without dropping a point in the league.
After joining relegation-threatened Dynamos during the mid-season transfer window, Mohammed got his first start for the club against Triangle, with regular Clive Mandivei suspended for accumulation of yellow cards.
The 30-year-old defender, with Caf Confederation Cup experience from former club Nsoatreman FC in Ghana, partnered Tendai Magwaza and the two were rock solid as they managed to keep clean sheets, although the team failed to bag the three points.
Kaindu, who is looking to pull off a sensational relegation rescue mission for DeMbare, felt Mohammed put up a Man of the Match performance.
“Issaka has been with us for some time. He came in for suspended Clive Mandivei. First time that he has played, I think he did very well,” Kaindu told reporters.
“He did very well and maybe for me, I would even give him the Man of the Match award. He hasn't been active. I think he was solid.
“He gave us a number of lofted passes from the back, especially in the first half. With a bit of urgency, we could have capitalised on that.”

The draw saw Dynamos move from 17th place on the 18-team standings for the first time in three months up to 16th place with 29 points from 28 matches.
They will need to win at least three of their last six matches to be guaranteed survival.
Kaindu believes veteran eccentric midfielder Denver Mukamba is slowly getting close to starting for Dynamos after he was introduced early in the second half on Sunday.
“We could have brought him in early. But like I said, this game was a very difficult game and we tried to delay a bit,” the Glamour Boys mentor said.
“When he came in, Denver always does something. Look at the last chance that we had. Maybe just a bit of composure on Perezo. I think we could have scored a goal. A number of set-pieces that he gave us.
“Unfortunately, the goalkeeper was very, very good in terms of the aerial balls and defending.”
Added Kaindu: “But he’s a player that can give you anything at any given time. One good shot, just missing the target there.
“We’re still working on him and we believe in the next games that are coming, he’ll be able to get even more minutes than today.”
Focus shifts to the Chibuku Super Cup competition for Dynamos as they take on ZPC Kariba at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday.
Holders DeMbare managed to account for Yadah FC and league champions Simba Bhora in the preliminary and first round, respectively.
