The band’s publicist, Tich Makahamadze, yesterday confirmed Nyazanda’s return, saying their camp was happy with the development.

“Yes, I can confirm that we have welcomed back our son, Noel Nyazanda, a lead guitarist to the family. We worked very well with Nyazanda before he moved out four years ago and we have welcomed him back home,” Makahamadze said.

“We are going to officially introduce him to our fans on Friday at our show set for Warren Park 1 bar. The past is gone and we are ready to look to the future.”

The guitarist, together with other band members; dancer Francis “Franco Slomo” Daka, Congolese dancer-cum-vocalist Jonas Kasamba and drummer Obert Gomba formed their outfit Orchestra Kwazvose.

Nyazanda, who has been making frantic efforts to re-join the band for a long time, has reunited with fellow rebels Kasamba and Gomba who returned to join the Orchestra Mberikwazvo ship early this year.

Macheso has since changed his mind to accommodate the ‘rebels’ having vowed not to take them back after their departure, which reportedly contributed to the delayed release of his 10th studio album Tsoka Dzerwendo.

Efforts to get a comment from Nyazanda were fruitless yesterday.
