Never was the backing vocalist-cum-dancer at Somanje Stars on Saturday during the provincial Chibuku Road To Fame competitions in Murewa where Josphat was the guest singer.

The nomadic artiste received a standing ovation when he came on stage and it was clear that he commands a huge following from music lovers in and around Murewa.

Never confirmed he has rejoined Josphat and that his move has nothing to do with his recent fallout with Faheem.

“I was called by Josphat to join him and I just did that. I have worked with him before and I can say that I am back home. I am comfortable with that (joining Somanje Stars) and no one is there to decide for me on my future. It is all good and home is the best,” he said.

Never left Pengaudzoke in protest to Faheem’s decision of retaining former band manager, Edmore Makoni.

According to Never, Makoni was the late Pengaudzoke founder Daition Somanje’s “enemy” after he duped him of a car. He said Makoni left Pengaudzoke with the car and Daiton later realised that the vehiclewas not registered in the band’s name.

He said it pained him to work with Makoni given how Daiton died a bitter man over his former manager’s conduct.

On Saturday, Never’s combination with Josphat worked well and their performance kept music lovers on their feet. They performed hit songs mainly from the Josphat’s platinum album that included This Time Haulume and Maggie Mukaranga among others.

Never (41) was part of the Somanje Stars team that did the hit album This Time-Haulume. He then later joined Pengaudzoke being led by Daiton after Josphat was incarcerated. On September 9, 2014 he joined the Orchestra Dendera Kings.

However, after the death of Daiton, he left Sulu and began working with the new heir Faheem.
