The concert, dubbed In His Praises Encounter 1 with Thembinkosi Nyoni, will be held at Bulawayo Theatre and will bring established and aspiring musicians together on stage.

Nyoni told Southern Eye Life & Style this week that everything was now set for the concert.

“Everyone is now geared to rock the city on the day with an interesting schedule. This will be a live recording event,” he said.

“I have been doing a lot of events, but this time I want to do something of mine and promoting music so as my three albums — Makabongwe uJesu, Uthando Luka Baba and UnguJehova Ovula Iminyango. This is going to be a very powerful event with energetic performances.”

Nyoni said the artistes lined up to perform include Oscar, Taliah, Siza, Lantong, Yolanda and Gospel Maniacs.

“We promise nothing but manifestation of hidden talent on the day. The city has a lot of talent that needs exposure and on the day it will be exposed to the world. We urge all to come and support the local talent and also the growth of gospel music,” he said.

Nyoni has shared the stage with top gospel artistes including Mkhululi Bhebhe, Michael Mahendere, Tsitsi Mercy and Mathias Mhere.
