Police who confirmed the death of the woman identified as Jane James, said no foul play was suspected. The deceased octogenarian was discovered by her son Charles Manoti in the early hours of Saturday. Manoti report the case at Mbizo Police Station.

When NewsDay arrived at the scene of the incident, scores of people from the suburb were gathered at house number ME 388 Mbizo to witness the shocking sight.

The police took the deceased’s body to Kwekwe General Hospital mortuary for an autopsy.

A neighbour who spoke to NewsDay on condition of anonymity said the deceased had a dispute with her relatives whom she stayed with at the house over an undisclosed issue before deciding to take her own life. “The deceased had a dispute with her relatives over an issue we are yet to know and seemed very unhappy.

We were latter surprised to hear that she had hanged herself.  We are shocked that she decided to take that route,” said the neighbour.
