Former provincial winners of the Chibuku Road to Fame competition, Tanga Pasi, did the country proud at two regional assignments recently.

The Plumtree-based group represented Zimbabwe at the Africa Day festival in Johannesburg, South Africa and the MTN Bushfire Festival in Swaziland.
Tanga Pasi travelled to the two countries to take part in the high profile regional festivals and have returned home with nothing but smiles on their faces for having earned such an opportunity to showcase what they described as their best performance outside Zimbabwe.
“It was really exciting and encouraging to perform at the festivals and the audiences were extremely welcoming and larger than we usually attract in Zimbabwe,” said band member, Pamela Ngwenya.
“We are so excited because we received overwhelming support and positive feedback. People really enjoyed it and there were lots of compliments posted on our Facebook page following the shows,” said Ngwenya.
Tanga Pasi, meaning “starting from scratch” is a versatile band making Nu-Afro music was formed in June 2009 when lead vocalist and song-writer, Sinini Ngwenya came together with a few friends for the love of music.
Tanga Pasi is currently looking into commencing work on their second album which they hope to complete by the end of the year.

“We are still waiting for confirmation from Chimanimani Arts Festival organisers, but we are also hoping to have the chance to deliver our best home performance yet,” added Ngwenya.
