Allegations are that Munyanyi, through his manager, only identified as Walter last week ordered Gasa to bring the instruments to the studio claiming that they wanted to use the music kit for some recording.

Gasa, the frontman of Extra Valembe, confirmed the development to NewsDay, adding that his promising career now hangs in limbo.

“I am really confused and don’t know what Munyanyi is trying to do. I was actually thinking that I have hit the right chord after the launch of my fourth album, but as it stands things have turned upside down for me,” the Simbi Hombe hitmaker said.

Contacted for comment, Munyanyi sounded unaware of the case claiming that it was his first time to hear the story.

“I am not even aware of what you are talking about. You are the first one to tell me about the issue. Who has given you my number?” asked Munyanyi.

Munyanyi was once reportedly involved in a similar case with gospel musician Lloyd Tevedzai, who later dumped the recording company.

Another gospel artiste Kudzi Nyakudya, who once worked under the Munyanyi signature was once arrested after he was found selling pirated CDs of his own music claiming that his actions were largely influenced by Diamond Studio’s weak distribution strategies.

In his effort to defend himself, Nyakudya said he felt let down by the recording company (Diamond Studios) which he said was giving him a raw deal.
