AN assembly of the Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe (AFM) will hold a one-week maturity conference to build a mature church unshackled by the travails of the harsh environment.

The conference starts this Sunday and ends on July 27 at Highway Assembly in Houghton Park, Harare.
Some of the preachers at the conference will include Bishop Fidelis Obwogie from Kenya and AFM’s pastor Takesure Sigauke among others.
Highway Assembly leader pastor Caeser Magwentshu said the conference intends to build a mature church that withstands the heat at a time “there has been a lot of doctrinal errors taking places”.
There have been reports of church leaders manipulating followers on the pretext that they were doing so according to the Bible. Magwentshu said as a result of the doctrinal errors taking place, worshippers have found it difficult to identify a true church rooted in Christ.
At least 700 people are expected to attend the conference.
“We are not looking at quantity growth but a church that should grow in quality, moving from multitudes to people who can worship God,” Magwentshu told NewsDay yesterday.
