BULAWAYO, Mar. 31 (NewsDay Live) – ZimTrade has stepped up efforts to expand market access for Zimbabwean products through high-level engagements with buyers and distributors in Ghana.

The trade promotion body said it is holding meetings with strategic partners to unlock concrete export opportunities for local businesses.

“We are in Ghana engaging strategic partners, leading buyers and distributors to advance market access for Zimbabwean products,” ZimTrade said in a statement.

The engagements are focused on securing retail shelf space and building sustainable distribution channels.

“Our engagements are focused on practical pathways for distribution, retail placement and long-term commercial partnerships,” the statement said.

ZimTrade said early discussions have already pointed to strong potential for increased trade flows between Zimbabwe and Ghana.

“The discussions so far reveal clear opportunities to strengthen trade links and expand the reach of Zimbabwe’s exports across Africa,” it added.

Ghana, host of the AfCFTA Secretariat, is seen as a strategic gateway into West African markets.

ZimTrade is mandated to promote Zimbabwe’s exports and support local companies in accessing regional and international markets.
