Mining firm FS Mining has been lauded for sponsoring Zvikombe Primary School and for its ongoing development projects in Village 6, Mberengwa District. 

The chrome miner’s intervention has transformed the rural community through the construction of access roads and the drilling of boreholes. 

Speaking at the school sports event, Chief Bvute of Village 6 in Mberengwa highlighted the tangible impact of the corporate partnership. 

"FS Mining has helped Village 6 in so much ways,  the construction of roads for easy movement of vehicles and people and  the drilling of boreholes in the community." 

The chief revealed that the company’s generosity extended to the pupils who excelled at the competition.  

"After the competition, successful pupils were given money and food hampers as awards," he said. 

Meanwhile, jChief Bvute announced a significant future intervention for persons living with disabilities. 

"FS Mine is yet to help the disabled with wheelchairs and crushes , which is a great milestone in the development of the community and the nation at large," he added. 

The sentiments were echoed by the school’s Deputy Head, Trust Mpofu, who formally appreciated the miner for its consistent support. He emphasized the company’s role in uplifting the most vulnerable members of society. 

Mr Mpofu expressed gratitude to FS Mining, which mines Chrome in the area, "for its continuous support in assisting the needy, orphans and the underprivileged." 

In an interview with the media , the Deputy Head elaborated on the company’s broader environmental and social impact. He revealed that the miner’s assistance goes beyond infrastructure to include public health initiatives. 

Mpofu told the media that FS Mine has helped in the development of the community by drilling boreholes at Growth points," he said. Furthermore, the company has actively partnered with residents in environmental management. 

Mr Mpofu said the miner has "collaborated with community in Clean up campaigns every first Fridays of the month to ensure the community is a conducive environment." This sustained partnership highlights the positive role of private sector engagement in rural development, combining educational support with critical access to water and healthcare for the disabled.
