WITH just days remaining before the curtain rises, anticipation is building for this year’s National Excellence Hall of Fame awards ceremony set for Saturday (March 14) at the Rainbow Towers Hotel and Conference Centre in Harare.
The star-studded event will see distinguished Zimbabweans inducted into the National Excellence Hall of Fame, where they will symbolically “walk on their stars” — an honour inspired by the global recognition modelled after the renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“Preparations are at an advanced stage for what is expected to be a historic evening celebrating Zimbabwe’s finest achievers,” said one of the event organisers, Christopher Samkange.
He said inductees will receive golden stars, commemorative plaques, badges of honour and ceremonial gowns in recognition of their exceptional contributions.
Samkange added that the ceremony represents the organisation’s highest form of recognition for individuals who have made a lasting impact in their respective fields.
“Beyond the awards presentation, the evening will feature a glamorous red-carpet reception where honourees will share the stories behind their journeys, while a temporary online museum will showcase their achievements for wider public viewing,” he said.
He noted that the selection process for the Hall of Fame was rigorous, with only individuals whose work has stood out nationally being chosen for induction.
“Attendance confirmations are currently underway as the awards body finalises arrangements for what has been billed as a ‘dinner of legends’,” Samkange said.
