Maduza was granted US$300 bail and advised not to interfere with State witnesses.

FORMER Zanu PF legislator for Kambuzuma Tinashe Maduza was arraigned before Harare magistrate Apollonia Marutya, facing a charge of fraud involving US$75 000.

Maduza was granted US$300 bail and advised not to interfere with State witnesses.

He will return to court on December 5 for routine remand.

The State alleges that sometime in December last year, the complainant engaged Muduza looking for a residential stand to buy in and around Harare.

Maduza, together with his accomplices, who are on remand, offered the complainant a stand in  Quinnington Township, Harare for US$75 000, whose documents from the City of Harare were fraudulent.

The complainant allegedly paid for the stand.

The offence came to light when the complainant approached the City of Harare for plan approval and discovered that the stand was not owned by council, but was privately owned.

The complainant engaged the accused persons, who

became evasive after receiving payment.

The complainant reported the matter to the police, leading to the arrest of the accused person.
