ZANU PF Nyanga South MP Supa Mandiwanzira has encouraged youths around the country to join the National Youth Service (NYS), which helps them to acquire skills for possible employment.

Mandiwanzira made the remarks on Saturday at Kubudazuva Primary School in his constituency, where a Zanu PF-affiliated organisation, Boys DzaMdara, was donating to the school.

The affiliate hosted a two-day annual conference in the resort town.

Boys dzaMdara, led by its chairperson Hopewell Chako, donated 100 pairs of shoes, computers and installed Starlink internet at the school.

Mandiwanzira, a Zanu PF politburo member, applauded the donation.

“If you see Boys dzaMdara, they are not ordinary people. They are different from other people, the reason is because they went through the National Youth Service training,” he said.

“Its leadership went through vigorous training at the NYS. We are calling on all the youths to join the NYS because they can earn lifelong skills that can earn them jobs,” he said.

“At the NYS, there are skills which are taught there which are not found in schools, colleges and even universities.”

Chako said they would also give back to the community.

“As Boys dzaMdara, we are young entrepreneurs and we want to inspire young entrepreneurs to come up with their businesses and improve the economy of the country,” he said.

National secretary general Edd Maenda said they were also supporting President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s initiatives and the government’s Vision 2030.

Manicaland chapter treasurer, Liberty Top Striker Gumende, called on youths to start business ventures.

“We have started our businesses, but we have created platforms where we can interact and start businesses. We need to inspire each other as youths,” he said.
