The Zimbabwe DefenceForces (ZDF) said Air Lieutenant Nesbert Tambudza lost his life after a Karakorum-8 (K-8) jet trainer aircraft that he was flying crashed in the Guinea Fowl area.

HARARE, Feb 6 (NewsDayLive) - An Air Force of Zimbabwe pilot died Thursday following a jet trainer aircraft crash in Gweru, officials have confirmed.

The Zimbabwe DefenceForces (ZDF) said Air Lieutenant Nesbert Tambudza lost his life after a Karakorum-8 (K-8) jet trainer aircraft that he was flying crashed in the Guinea Fowl area.

The Air Force of Zimbabwe says it is investigating the accident.

In a statement, ZDF General Philip Valerio Sibanda said Tambudza was a young pilot who had demonstrated immense potential and had been selected to undergo a jet flying conversion training course.
