‘Systems disturbance hits Hwange Power Station’

In a statement, the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC), a subsidiary of ZESA Holdings, said its engineers were working flat out to bring it back on line.

Power utility Zesa Holdings says a system disturbance at the Hwange Thermal Power Station on Wednesday morning has caused depressed electricity generation across the country.

In a statement, the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC), a subsidiary of ZESA Holdings, said its engineers were working flat out to bring it back on line.

Meanwhile, the  ZETDC also urged consumers on prepaid electricity purchase system to purchase adequate tokens to ensure they do not run out of credit between Wednesday and Thursday as its engineers carry out  critical maintenance on the system.
