BULAWAYO-BASED visual artist Danisile Ncube will present a digital art exhibition titled Digital Blooms, a showcase exploring African identity and personal growth in an increasingly digital world.
The exhibition will be held on May 1 at iMbali Mall in Bulawayo from 10am to 5:30pm, allowing members of the public to experience bold canvas works that blend digital aesthetics with African cultural identity.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the exhibition, Ncube said Digital Blooms reflected how people were evolving alongside technology and digital
spaces.
“Digital Blooms is about growth in a digital age. I’m looking at how we, as people, are evolving alongside technology — how our identities, emotions and creativity are being shaped by digital spaces,” Ncube said.
According to the artist, the concept of “blooms” symbolises organic growth within environments often viewed as artificial, such as online platforms and digital communities.
“The blooms represent something organic happening in a very modern environment. Just like flowers grow and adapt to different conditions, we are also growing within digital spaces through social media, virtual connections and digital expression,” he said.
Ncube said audiences should expect vibrant and immersive works that encouraged viewers to reflect on how they exist in today’s rapidly changing world.

He added that hosting the exhibition at iMbali Mall was a deliberate effort to make art more accessible.
“Not everyone walks into a gallery, but everyone goes to a mall. This is about taking art to the people and allowing them to experience contemporary art in a familiar space,” Ncube said.
He thanked the mall’s management and shop owners for supporting the initiative.
“We’re living in a time where everything is shifting — communication, creativity and even how we see ourselves. Digital Blooms is a response to that moment. It’s about understanding change and also embracing it,” Ncube said.
The exhibition is open to everyone, including artists, young people, collectors and
families.
“You don’t need arts background. Just come with curiosity,” he said.
