POPULARLY known by his stage name Mwana Harare, John Ronaldo Luntu is fast becoming the artiste to watch in Zimbabwe’s music and arts industry.
Born and raised in Chitungwiza, the young artiste draws inspiration from some of the country’s biggest stars, including Jah Prayzah and Baba Harare, to carve his own path in jiti music and acting.
Mwana Harare began his artistic journey in 2020, working alongside the Naiza Boom actors, whom he describes as “brothers and sisters” in the industry.
Over time, he expanded into acting, collaborating with popular names such as Vhovho, Ozemwa Netsai and Jatiwero. It was, however, the music of Baba Harare that left a lasting impression in him.
“Baba Harare became my role model,” he said.“I even practised the way he dances and how he shoots his videos,” he added. Inspired by that influence, Mwana Harare stepped into the jiti genre, determined to carry the torch forward.
His debut single Zambiya is set for release on October 5, 2025.
Describing the track as a “joyful and danceable song”, he hopes it will bring happiness to fans and mark the beginning of a promising musical career.
“This is just the start; I have many more jiti songs coming,” he declared.
