LOCAL media production company Axis4 is currently working on a documentary about the life of dethroned Miss Zimbabwe Emily Kachote in a bid to spruce up her image after she was caught up in a nude pictures scandal that led to her dethronement after a short reign.

The company’s public relations manager David Peters told NewsDay yesterday that they thought up the idea after realising that people need to see the other side of the model who has suffered immensely as a result of the “malicious accusations”.
“She has been associated with some things that seem to us as out of character for someone we understand is principled as she is and in any case it is clear that that the facts against her do not add up,” Peters said.
“She deserves a helping hand and a friendly face. As Axis4 we are happy to be both.”
Peters said people ought to acknowledge the fact that there is no solid evidence to prove the allegations that she had posed for any nude pictures and that the pictures that circulated did not bear her image.
Kachote’s manager Bishop Mlambo lauded the initiative saying he believes Miss Zim Trust shortchanged Emily by removing her from the throne on the basis of assumptions.
“We deserve to be heard and there has to be balance to every story there is, but the trust shortchanged us as they looked at the negative side which is not substantiated by evidential support,” said Mlambo.

Mlambo, however, said the model was not moved by the allegations and was ready to fight for what she deserves.
“Emily is a strong person who is not easily moved so she has forgiven them and is ready for Miss World because she is the legitimate crown holder according to the judges at the contest,” he said.
Kachote’s ouster has stirred wide debate over the relevance of the beauty pageant which has, in the last few years, been rocked by scandals.
