Notorious robber nabbed

He was remanded in custody to April 26 for provision of his trial date, and was asked to approach the High Court for bail ruling.

BY TREVOR MUTSVAIRO NOTORIOUS robber Aaron Francisco Machona (37) was arraigned before Harare magistrate Yeukai Dzuda facing four counts of murder, attempted robbery, armed robbery and money laundering charges.

He was remanded in custody to April 26 for provision of his trial date, and was asked to approach the High Court for bail ruling.

He is accused of raiding houses in Waterfalls, Harare while armed with a pistol. In one incident, he killed a woman in Uplands, Waterfalls.

All other robberies were committed in Harare and the accused used the proceeds of his crime to purchase a residential stand at number 37599 Unit C Seke, Chitungwiza on which he built a three roomed house.

Machona is also alleged to have used proceeds of his crimes to purchase a Toyota Runx vehicle registration number AFD 6503.

0n April 22 this year, he was then and charged with robbery, murder and theft.
