Acting chief executive officer, Brian Mutandiro landed the second prize in the Male Business Personality of the Year category that also pitted 20 finalists.

The Megafest Northern Awards seek to honour men, women and organisations which excel in business at various levels.

In an interview on the sidelines of the ceremony, Mutandiro credited his award to teamwork and the customer centricity approach embraced by his organisation in the recent past.

“Nothing beats a united team working for one common purpose. At NetOne, we are one big family striving to satisfy our most valuable stakeholder – the customer. These two pillars have been instrumental in shaping our organisation and it is highly gratifying when results start to be appreciated by esteemed institutions like Megafest,” he said.

NetOne recently launched its mobile money platform, OneMoney, which is proving to be highly competitive on the market.

In a space of just three months, OneMoney grew by a massive 2 951%, according to regulator, the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe’s third quarter report.

Earlier in the year, NetOne had launched numerous products which include OneTech and One Cover.

OneTech is a facility providing civil servants smartphones on hire purchase. The product was launched in conjunction with BancEASY, who funded it to the tune of $10 million.

It came as a huge relief to government employees most of whom find it difficult to raise sufficient funds at one go and buy the gadgets which enable them to enjoy the company’s products like OneFusion.

OneCover is a funeral insurance package which can be accessed at rates as low as 40 cents a month.

It is a package that accommodates senior citizens of up to 74 years of age, a constituency traditionally marginalised by most insurers.
