A remorseful Jangano explained the reasons which led him to fail to report early for camp.

“I have apologised to the coach after reporting late for camp. I will apologise again after their return from Lesotho. What I did was not acceptable, but personally, for me, there was a breakdown in communication. Initially, I had heard we would train in Harare and maybe leave for Bulawayo two or so days before the match. So I didn’t travel on Monday and only left for Bulawayo on Tuesday and arrived late in the afternoon. I accept that I made a mistake not to phone the coach and try to establish what was going to happen, but I will apologise again when the team returns from Lesotho,” Jangano said yesterday.

Pasuwa has reinstated Zvirekwi, who had also been expelled from camp, after he apologised for his actions.

Dynamos star midfielder Ronald “Rooney” Chitiyo was also expelled for a similar offence.

Pasuwa, however, said he would consider pardoning Chitiyo and Jangano on his return from Lesotho.

The Warriors have remained in camp in Bulawayo as they prepare to travel to Maseru on Friday for the decisive second leg of their African Nations Championship (Chan) final qualifier against Lesotho at Sesotso Stadium.

Pasuwa’s men won the match 3-1 at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday to put one foot into the Chan finals to be staged in Rwanda next year courtesy of a double strike by Rodrick Mutuma with skipper Danny Phiri weighing in with the other goal.

The Warriors now need to consolidate their first leg victory to seal a place at the finals in Rwanda in January. If they manage to qualify, it will be their fourth successive appearance at the finals since the tournament was inaugurated in 2008.

The Chan tournament is designed exclusively for home-based players.
