MPUMALANGA Black Aces’ new Zimbabwe signing Tendai Ndoro’s dream of playing for his South African club was shattered yesterday after the Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) declined to issue him with an International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

The Chicken Inn striker signed a one-year contract with Black Aces with an option for renewal last month after convincing the club’s technical team during trials that he was the right man they wanted.

Black Aces have already made a part payment for the player, but Zifa have declined to issue an ITC arguing the South African transfer window had already closed on September 2 by the time the transfer instruction was made.

Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela said in a statement yesterday. “The Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa), would like to inform the football fraternity and the nation that all transfers and registration of players are processed within the transfer window period . This is in adherence to Annex 3.1 of Fifa regulations which governs the transfer and registration of players and it states that: “All applications to register a professional must be submitted by the new club to the new association during one of the registration periods established by that association.

“Consequently, the transfer of player, Tendai Ndoro was not processed because South Africa Football Association (Safa)’s transfer window period had closed on September 2, 2013.

“Chicken Inn FC entered the transfer instruction into the Transfer Matching System (TMS) on the 13th of September 2013.

“We would like the football fraternity to kindly note that the player , Tendai Ndoro can only be transferred to Mpumalanga Black Aces FC during the second Safa transfer window period which opens on the 1st January 2014 and closes on the 31st of January 2014.”

However, documents from world soccer governing body Fifa show the transfer contract date for the player as August 30 meaning it was before the close of the transfer window.

The latest development means Ndoro will be out of action for the next four months as he awaits the opening of the next transfer window in January.

He left the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League as the leading goal scorer having netted 11 goals in 16 starts.

He is also a member of the Warriors and scored a memorable brace during the Cosafa Cup tournament in Zambia against Lesotho. Black Aces have also signed former Zimbabwe goalkeeper Energy Murambadoro on a two-year deal after he was released by Bidvest Wits at the beginning of the season.
