Tuku, who staged shows in the Netherlands, Japan and the United States of America during the tour, arrived in the country on Wednesday.

Tuku’s manager Sam Mataure said they had a successful tour, adding most of their fans had requested that the band return for more shows.

“It was a great journey of excitement and experience,” Mataure said.

“We were happy to meet old and new fans and the response we got was overwhelming. Those fans have been supporting us for a long time and they still enjoy every moment of our performances.

“They requested that we return for more shows in the near future. We always have a tight international schedule, but we will do our best to reach out to our fans in many parts of the world.”

Speaking about tonight’s show, Mataure said they were looking forward to give their fans a good homecoming show.

“We will be sharing the stage with Mic Inity for the first time and we will be performing at Red Fox for the first time. We are looking forward to a great show,” Mataure said.

“We are also looking forward to meeting our fans after a long absence and it would be more of a party than a show. Homecoming is always an exciting experience.”

The show will see Mic Inity getting yet another feather up his cap as Tuku becomes the third high-profile artiste to play with him after Alick Macheso and Sulumani Chimbetu.

Red Fox proprietor Robert Zhuwao yesterday said they had themed the show The Homecoming kumaRasta and was in line with their concept of combining reggae music and local genres.

“We had Macheso at the beginning of winter and two very successful shows with Sulu. Now we present Zimbabwe’s biggest artiste alongside Mic Inity and Nadine ‘Lady Fire’ Brown,” Zhuwao said.

“The artistes present polished live performances and this show promises to be our gig of the year. It’s Tuku’s first dance with Zimbabwe in over two months and Mic Inity’s first date with Tuku. It promises fireworks.”

He said the show would also present them with a big platform to start their summer scheme for Mic Inity’s path after the re-branding which commenced in January. Red Fox signed Mic Inity’s management contract culminating in the creation of his Red Radicals Band.

“Mic Inity has a new set and will be sampling new tracks from his double CD nearing completion. His sing-along single, Goodness Shall Pay, is becoming an anthem at shows and will be available for free upon entry,” Zhuwao said.

He said the fusion of different genres and artistes like Tuku was developing Mic Inity into an artiste of international standards.
