Three more Dynamos fans involved in an accident on their way to watch the epic Premiership battle between FC Platinum and DeMbare in Zvishavane on Sunday have died.
This brings the death toll to six after three people died on Sunday.
The accident occurred on the 200km peg along the Bulawayo-Masvingo Road when a commuter omnibus carrying 14 passengers burst its left rear tyre and overturned killing one person on the spot.
The other person died on admission at Filabusi Hospital on the fateful day. Reliable sources at the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) yesterday told NewsDay Sport another person died at the medical institution after he was admitted on Sunday while two others died on Tuesday from injuries sustained.
“One passed away on Sunday after he was admitted at Grey Ward. The other two died yesterday, one at Ellis Ward and the other, a member of staff here also died in the Grey Ward yesterday,” the source said.
The driver of the kombi is admitted at the hospital, with two other survivors at the Grey Ward, while two others are receiving treatment at the Ellis Ward.
Two people, one from Tshabalala and another from Entumbane had by yesterday been discharged from hospital and are recuperating at home, while another is receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital.
Ernest Imbayarwo, chief co-ordinator of the Bulawayo chapter of the Dynamos Supporters’ Association, yesterday confirmed the death toll has reached five.

He gave names of the deceased as Tarupuwa Shenjere, who was buried in Gutu yesterday, Tinashe Masunda of Tshabalala suburb, Tinofa Mashava of Mwenezi and Raymond Jiri of Nkulumane, who died at UBH yesterday morning. Jiri will be buried in Bikita.
Imbayarwo said the other supporter with a dislocated spine was referred to Mpilo on Tuesday and succumbed to injuries yesterday. He said his association will be assisting in the burial of supporters who perished in the accident.
“We have five people that have died so far and as we speak, we are in a convoy of four vehicles with Dynamos supporters. We are going to Tshabalala and Sizinda. We understand the deceased will be buried in their rural homes in Mwenezi and Zvishavane.
“We are going to present each family with $100 and then accompany them up to about 10km out of town to their respective places of burial.
We are also going to give $100 to each of the other families of the two that have just died. Some of us who are able will proceed to Mwenezi and Zvishavane,” Imbayarwo said.
