Harare City head coach Bigboy Mawiwi has said his club is now focusing on preparations for life in the top-flight league following their winning of the case against DStv Rangers.

Harare City had been crowned the Division One champions after finishing the league with 51 points from 26 games, but their celebrations were put on ice as second-placed DStv Rangers lodged a complaint with Zifa alleging City had used an ineligible player in Webster Muronda.

Northern Region secretary Sweeney Mushonga confirmed Harare Citys promotion to the top-flight league in a statement.

. . . We advise the dispute between the above clubs (DStv and Harare City) has been concluded in favour of Harare City FC, who therefore have been confirmed the league champions of the Northern Region soccer League 2011 soccer season, said Mushonga in a statement. City coach Mawiwi said the past weeks have been very stressful to his club as they could not plan for the coming season not knowing the league they would be playing in.

I am happy that finality has been brought to the case. Naturally it affected our plans as some of the players who would have wanted to join us ended up joining other teams. However, we never lost hope and were confident that we did everything above board, he said.

Mawiwi said he would be hoping to add three players with Premiership experience to his squad.
