Hwange technical manager Tennant Chilumba says their major aim is not to concede a goal at home when they clash with Al Amal Atbara in the Orange Caf Confederations Cup firtst round, first leg tie at the Colliery on Sunday because they might make life difficult for them in the return leg.
Chilumba said they were geared up to face the Sudanese team.
“We are playing at home, but that is not really any advantage in such competitions as anything can happen. Our aim is not to concede any goal because we will have a mountain to climb when we go to Sudan,” he said.
The players were expected to troop into camp last night.
“We are ready for the game but no player is guaranteed a starting place. The players have to prove that they are ready and fit for the game. All the registered players will be up for selection,” he said.
He added that they were expecting a tough encounter, but they were ready for the challenge.
“We have gathered information that they have played four games in the league so far and they have won three and lost once. This shows that they are good side, but we are ready for them,” he said.
Hwange were in a dilemma on Monday after Al Mal Atbara wrote through their national association informing them that they would arrive in Harare today yet Hwange had earlier advised them to seek a direct flight to Victoria Falls.

Hwange secretary Burzil Dube yesterday told NewsDay Sport that the match would be played in Hwange after there were fears that match could be shifted to Harare.
“We are still expecting to charter the plane to Victoria Falls as the team is arriving in Harare tomorrow(today),” he said.
Hwange cruised through to the next round of the competition after they dismissed Zanzibar’s Jamhuri on 7-1 aggregate.
Al Mal Atbara are making a second appearance in the Caf Confederations Cup.
