Zimbabwe Rugby Union has released a 20-man squad for the Sables Daily Training Environment (DTE), ramping up preparations as the countdown to their high-stakes clash against South Africa A on June 20 gathers serious momentum.

The DTE squad, drawn predominantly from local clubs, signals coach Pieter Benade's intention to build cohesion and sharpness among his available players as the programme shifts into a higher gear following the Blue Bulls Training Camp.

The squad is headlined by familiar faces from Zimbabwe's domestic rugby landscape. Old Hararians Rugby Club remain heavily represented with Zvikomborero Chimoto, Aiden Burnett, Hilton Mudariki, Tatenda Kamubvumbi and Brendan Mason all included, while Harare Sports Club contribute Tadiwanashe Gwashu, Vuyani Dhlomo, Kudzai Mashawi, Darrel Makwasha and Godfrey Magaramombe.

Further depth comes from Giordano Sarpo, Emmanuel Gabbi, Brian Nyaude, Nyasha Shiripinda, Trevor Gurwe, Tadius Dzandiwandira, Jeff Makoni, Tonderai Chiwambutsa, Wayne Kunaka and Ryan Musumhi, a diverse group that gives Benade plenty of options as he fine-tunes his combinations.

The DTE forms a critical bridge between the Blue Bulls camp and the SAS Training Camp alongside South Africa U20 scheduled for June 8 to 13, ensuring the Sables arrive at their SA A fixture with maximum preparation behind them.

With the Nations Cup in the United States also looming on the horizon in July, the urgency and intensity of Zimbabwe's preparations has never been higher.
