NORTHERN Region Soccer League (NRSL) log leaders N’ombeyaora are just 90 minutes away from clinching the championship as they travel to Ngoni Stadium for a decisive clash against an in-form MWOS U19 tomorrow.
N’ombeyaora, sitting on 86 points, hold a slender one-point lead over second-placed Agama FC (85) who face a tricky away fixture against FC Oden at Chinhoyi Stadium, a match scheduled to kick off simultaneously.
With only one round of matches remaining, N’ombeyaora’s consistency throughout the campaign has put them firmly in control of their title destiny.
Their defensive solidity and attacking flair have made them the team to beat, having netted 12 goals in their last two outings without conceding.
The league leaders will once again look to their prolific strike duo Tadiwa Chibunyu, the current top scorer with 16 goals, and Russell Chipfura on 14 to fire them to glory.
Agama, however, remain hopeful that Chibunyu and company slip up.
They will be banking on the league’s second top scorer Tinashe Balakasi (15) and the ever-green Grey Kufandada to keep their faint title hopes alive with a big win in Chinhoyi.
At the other end of the table, the relegation battle remains fierce.
