THE Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) has initiated a new era for the national game by appointing a star-studded quartet of icons as its official Zifa ambassadors.
Liverpool legend and Uefa Champions League winner Bruce Grobbelaar headlines the list, joined by English Premier League pioneer Peter Ndlovu, former Warriors captain Benjani Mwaruwari and women’s football titan Nomsa “Boys” Moyo.
Endorsed at the Zifa executive committee meeting on November 2, 2025, this landmark initiative recognises the quartet’s outstanding contributions to the beautiful game.
The ambassadors are entrusted with the crucial responsibility of representing Zimbabwean football on the global stage, serving as role models, advocates and bridge-builders to inspire the next generation, strengthen development and elevate Zimbabwe’s football story worldwide.
Grobbelaar, the charismatic former Warriors goalkeeper, brings with him a legacy of European excellence and leadership.
A Champions League winner and one of the greatest goalkeepers ever to come out of Africa, Grobbelaar’s story embodies resilience and passion.
In his ambassadorial role, he will focus on strengthening international football relations, mentorship and promoting the global image of Zimbabwean football.
The other legendary appointments bring specific expertise to Zifa’s strategic goals include Peter Ndlovu, the first African player in the English Premier League, will play a pivotal role in youth engagement and talent development.

Benjani Mwaruwari, the former Warriors skipper and Premier League star, is tasked with spearheading Zifa’s community outreach and grassroots football initiatives.
