Rusike and South African defender Tsepo Masilela are yet to make their official debuts for Chiefs, but it appears they are edging closer after Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter said he would use the Macufe Cup to test the readiness of both players.

Masilela is on the comeback trail following surgery early September after the discovery of appendicitis during his medical when he concluded a two-year deal with the club, but he is now raring to go.

“Tsepo is in full training now, so it is only a question of match fitness. He will take part in the Macufe Cup and maybe he will be ready for the Telkom Knockout match against Bidvest Wits, but if not I’m sure he will be available for selection for the Maritzburg United game on October 26,” Baxter revealed to KickOff.com.

Meanwhile, Chiefs forward Rusike, who was in dispute with Jomo Cosmos over his contract and he was cleared to Chiefs by the PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber, will also don the Amakhosi jersey in the Macufe Cup.
