JOHANNESBURG — Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter believes left-back Jimmy Jambo will be out for the rest of the South African Premier Soccer League season after he was stretchered off late in the 3-2 Telkom Knockout defeat at the hands of BidVest Wits on Friday night. Jambo looked to have dislocated his knee after being felled by fellow Zimbabwean Tinashe Nengomasha, with television pictures making for gruesome viewing.
“Jimmy’s problem is very difficult to diagnose at the moment, but he is probably out for the season,” a disconsolate Baxter said after the game. On the performance itself, he admitted that his side had started slowly in the game and were always playing catch-up football after that.
He also dismissed the notion that his players were tired after some only returned from international duty late in the week.—supersport.com
